65 Intermediate to upper-intermediate question cards for speaking prompts Use this set of INTERMEDIATE to UPPER-INTERMEDIATE FRENCH conversation prompt cards to get even your most timid students talking to each other in French. These 65 question cards are terrific for discussion and journal writing prompts. Each and every card is unique. Some are more advanced than others. Since there are so many of them you can easily print them, cut them out, and then sort them into stacks of different levels of difficulty for years and years of no-prep activities. These speaking and writing prompt cards are meant for SECONDARY education and will not necessarily be a good fit for primary. The cards are in FRENCH only. This activity is perfect for small groups or as a whole class activity. Use these cards as a review and vocabulary builder An easy to project PDF with only one card per page is included in case you want to work on the questions as a class without printing and cutting out the cards. Included: 65 question cards Easy to project PDF file (one card per page) There are many ways you can use this set of 65 speaking cards: ➤ Print, laminate, cut out, punch holes and attach on a ring for small groups to ask and answer questions. ➤ Use as a warm-up speaking activity or ice breaker with a conversation partner. As students enter the classroom have them choose 2-3 cards from a box. ➤ Students who finish their work earlier than others can choose a few of the cards and write out their answers including reasons for their preferences. ➤ Use as exit tickets. Give each student a card before the end of class and as they walk out of the room they tell the teacher their answer. ➤ Stations: Put students into groups and divide the cards amongst them. Have groups rotate to a new station as they finish the cards. ➤ Use the cards with board games. Students must answer a question in order to move. ➤ Use the cards as a getting to know you activity or ice breaker at the beginning of the year or at a French club event. ➤ Great resource for tutoring sessions.

La Famille - French 20 questions game - No prep speaking activity

(0)
La Famille - French 20 questions game - No prep speaking activity The game of 20 questions is a fun and effective way to practice forming French questions. This version of the game focuses on 52 nouns and verbs which are all about the family / la famille. This game work for any level as it is written in French and English. Want a real challenge for your upper levels or immersion students? Use the French only version! Included: 1 version with vocabulary written in French and English 1 version with vocabulary written in French only Have students work in small groups of 2-4 or project the game and use it as a whole class activity. This game includes 52 words. Many of the words may be new to your students as this game is meant not only to practice forming questions, but also to build vocabulary. I like to allow my students to look at the game chart while they play until they’re somewhat familiar with the words. After they’ve played the games a few times looking at the French-English version they feel more prepared to move on to the French only version. One student in the small group or class chooses a word on the chart. Other students ask up to 20 questions trying to guess the secret word. The student who has chosen the secret word can answer using the following responses: OUI - NON - PARFOIS - RAREMENT - GÉNÉRALEMENT - PEUT-ÊTRE - CELA DÉPEND - PROBABLEMENT Alternative game play: To change up the game and to make it more challenging as well as practicing other skills, have the student who chooses the secret word describe it to others in the group. Instead of asking questions about the secret word, other students listen to the description and guess it.

French partitive articles and other forms of DE complete lesson

(0)
French partitive articles and other forms of DE complete lesson - DE LA - DE L’ - DU - DES - DE - D’ We all know how difficult it can be for students to know when to use the correct form of DE when they don’t know all of the rules and when they’ve not had enough practice. This is a complete lesson plan that you can even use on a day when you can’t be at school and you have a sub who isn’t a French teacher. This resource includes a 30 minute video lesson. There is a one page printable study guide with rules and examples to accompany the video lesson, and the best part is the set of 100 numbered practice cards and answer key that will give your students tons of opportunities to practice. This lesson focuses on using DE or D’ before adjectives that come before the noun, the partitive with masculine, feminine, singular, and plural nouns, using DE or D’ after different forms of negation, using DE after certain verbs when followed by an infinitive, and using DE or D’ with expressions of quantity, and I’ve included a few tricky ones which do not use DE when referring to specific nouns, and that’s mentioned in the video lesson. I’ve included a set of 100 printable cards that you can cut out, and if you prefer a paperless version I’ve also included a PDF with only one card per page to project as a whole class activity or for students to use on tablets or computers.
